ABRIDGED BIOGRAPHY
Marín holds a degree in Economics from the University of Murcia and a PhD in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. He is a lecturer at the UPF Department of Economics (on leave of absence). He has worked as a researcher and instructor at Wharton School, the University of New York, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the Universidad Torcuato di Tella (Argentina) and the University of the Pacific (Peru).

He is also the president of the Spanish Finance Association (AEFIN) and former director of the UPF Research Centre for Financial Economics and Accounting. He is the joint author of several books and has published various scientific articles in renowned journals such as the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Portfolio Management, the Review of Economic Studies and the Journal of Monetary Economics and Economic Theory.

Marín has worked as a senior consultant for several institutions such as Quantitative Financial Strategies, Inc. (QFS); Grossman Asset Management, LP; the European Central Bank; and the European Investment Bank. He is also the promoter and president of Financial Innovations SL.
